Carpet Pad Installation & Replacement

Worn or moisture-damaged pad out, subfloor cleaned, new pad matched to what the room actually takes.

The layer underneath does most of the work

Carpet only feels as good as the pad underneath it. When padding is worn, compressed, or moisture damaged, we remove it, clean the subfloor underneath, and install new pad matched to the carpet type and the amount of traffic the room sees. It's frequently paired with stretching, since carpet that's been resting on a failed pad tends to need re-tensioning once fresh pad is in place, or with odor treatment when the old pad has absorbed as much as it can hold.

The one time we can screw down the subfloor

With the carpet folded back and the pad out, the subfloor is fully exposed, which is also the point in the job where a squeaky spot gets screwed down. It's advertised on the van for a reason: it's a small addition while everything is already open, not a separate visit.

Matched to the carpet and the traffic it actually takes, not a one-size pad. Call (425) 329-5162.

When to replace the pad, not just clean the carpet

A pad that's flat under a foot, damp after a spill years ago, or holding an odor no amount of cleaning shifts, is a pad that's done its job and needs to come out. Good carpet sitting on a failed pad will never feel or perform the way it should, no matter how well the top layer is maintained.

What it costs

Pad cost depends on the room size and the pad grade needed for the carpet on top of it, and it's frequently bundled with a stretch since the two go together. Text a photo and the room dimensions and we’ll price it for nothing before you book anything. Discounts vary by project for contractors, realtors, military, property managers and elderly customers.

Minimum service charge

Every visit starts here. It includes up to 300 sq ft of stretching, so booking this alongside a stretch is the cheapest way to have us out.

Pad questions, answered straight

If it's compressed flat, been through water damage, or holding an odor that cleaning can't reach, the pad is the problem, not the carpet on top of it. Leaving a failed pad under good carpet undoes whatever work happens above it.

With the carpet folded back and the old pad removed, we can see and clean the subfloor properly, and secure any loose spots before the new pad goes down. It's the only point in the process where the subfloor is fully exposed.

When a subfloor is loose enough to squeak, we can screw it down while it's exposed during a pad job. It's a small addition to the visit rather than a separate call, and it stops the squeak at the source rather than muffling it under new carpet.

It's often paired with stretching, since carpet that's been sitting on a failed pad tends to need re-tensioning once the new pad is in, or with pet odor treatment when the pad has absorbed as much as it can hold.

The right pad for the carpet type and the traffic it takes matters more than thickness alone. A pad that's too soft under a high-traffic hallway compresses fast regardless of how thick it started out.
