Small damage doesn't need a whole new floor

When the damage is confined to a few square feet, a full stretch or repair is more than the problem calls for. We cut the area back to a clean, square edge through the carpet and the pad, then seam in a donor piece sourced from a closet, under a piece of furniture, or leftover install scrap. A ragged edge is a patch you'll always be able to find; a clean one, closed with a radio-wave iron, usually isn't.

Getting the pile direction right

Every carpet fibre lies in one direction, and light hits it differently depending on which way you're standing relative to that lay. A patch cut without matching that direction reads as a slightly different colour from across the room, even in a perfect colour match. Getting the pile direction right before the seam ever goes in is what makes the difference.

This is a real job, start to finish: a hole cut clean through the carpet and the pad, and the same room finished with a berber patch where the join is genuinely hard to locate. Berber is the hardest pile to patch invisibly, because every loop across the seam has to line up, not just the colour.

What a patch costs

A closet donor patch is free if an unmatched scrap is acceptable to you. If you'd rather supply your own remnant for a closer colour match, that's fine too. Patching is billed the same way as a repair: the first hour is included in the base call, and additional time is $225.00 an hour, prorated to the minute.
